What if I'm not flexible enough to do Yoga?
This is a common misconception, you do not need any level of flexibility or fitness to begin Yoga. Over time strength and flexibility will come to the body through the repetition of the asanas (postures). Come as you are, that is already enough.
How do I start?
There are a multitude of offerings for beginners @ YogaCita.
You can join one of the popular beginners courses, or start out with a slow flow, Hatha or Yin class, these are suitable for all levels.
Please speak with us if you have any injuries and we can guide you to the most suitable class for you.
Please arrive 15 mins before your first (in studio) class so we can register you or discuss your individual needs.
Do you have online or on demand classes running while we are in lockdown?
Yes, we have a multitude of Livestream classes running every day, and have a library of different classes accessible on any membership plan.
We use the Zoom platform to present the classes, which you can download here:
What kind of deals do you have?
There is an online weekly membership option running while we are in stage 4 at an unbelievable $15 a week (cancel anytime) this allows you access to all the Livestream classes, and the ever growing on demand library too.
When we can return to the studio for regular classes there is an intro offer for 30 days of unlimited Yoga, which gives you ample time to try out all the classes and teachers.
You can also purchase single classes, 10 class packs, 20 class packs, yearly memberships, or spread the payments out with our direct debit weekly membership option.
How many times a week should I practice?
You will start to feel the benefits almost immediately, and these will continue to develop as your practice does. You can practice once a week, 2 or 3 times a week, or even every day. Do what feels right for your body, and what your schedule allows.
How is Yoga different to other physical exercise?
Yoga is so much more than the physical aspect of the practice. As we connect the body, mind and breath, we still the fluctuations of the mind, directing our attention inwards, becoming more aware of the present moment and cultivating a deeper sense of awareness of ourselves, our thought patterns and our inner dialogue.
What should I wear?
We recommend shorts and a not too baggy t-shirt for guys, and leggings or shorts and t-shirt for girls. No special footwear is required as we practice barefoot.
Do I need to bring anything?
During Covid-19 health restrictions: We recommend bringing your own Yoga mat, props, a small towel, and maybe some water.
Is the studio heated?
YogaCita utilizes the latest Far Infared Heating panels throughout the main studio, these keep the room at a steady temperature of 25 degrees, this helps with mobility in the joints and muscles, without draining you of energy.
Is there a minimum or maximum age to practice Yoga?
The minimum age is 14, for students under 18 we require that a parent or guardian signs their registration form and accompany them to classes.
There is no maximum age as Yoga will keep the body and mind in peak condition.
Can I do Yoga if i'm pregnant?
You are able to participate in Yoga classes after the first trimester of your pregnancy, and one month after the baby is born, there will be options and variations of the poses that the teacher can direct you to do, so always inform your instructor before the class begins if you are pregnant.
Can I bring my mobile phone?
Mobile phones are not allowed in the studio as they can be very distracting, we recommend switching your phone off or putting it on silent and leaving it in reception, so there will be no disruptions during class.
Where can I park?
YogaCita has an abundance of 2 hour, and all day parking surrounding the studio.
Should I eat before Yoga?
We recommend not eating for 2-3 hours before classes as twisting is a part of the practice, and food that is not fully digested may become uncomfortable for you.
If unavoidable then a light snack, yoghurt, fruit or a juice may suffice until after your practice.
